Figure 43: Isolated dual auxiliary input station (HC-AUX2-ISO, shown
without connectors)
The stations have two labels (not buttons) that identify the type of
device which can be attached to each jack (default labels appear in
Figure 43, above, and Figure 44, on page 112). When an attached
device signals an error, the corresponding light lights.
There are two types of auxiliary input stations:
The HC-AUX2-ISO Isolated Dual Auxiliary Input Station (see
Figure 43 on page 111) permits connection of either electrically
isolated or non-isolated, latching equipment. The station's own
electrical isolation prevents any attached device's electrical
problems from affecting the Telligence system.
The HC-AUX2 Dual Auxiliary Input Station (see Figure 44 on
page 112) allows for the connection of electrically isolated,
latching medical equipment only.
Caution:
Only monitor devices that are UL 544 or UL 60601-1
listed, that maintain dry contacts when in alarm mode, that are
electrically isolated, and that have standard 1/4-inch (0.64 cm)
diameter phone plugs, should be plugged into the HC-AUX2
station.
When an error occurs causing an attached device to enter alarm
mode, the device must stay in alarm mode until the problem is
resolved. To stay in alarm mode until problem resolution, equipment
connected to an auxiliary input station must latch.
When a monitored device is in alarm mode, or when it is
disconnected, the auxiliary input station places a cord pull call to
staff consoles and annunciators.
Note:
One or more stations equipped with Cancel buttons must be
associated with auxiliary input stations, to handle cord pull
situations.
