Types of smart pillow speakers

Telligence smart pillow speakers facilitate patient communications
with the nurses' station staff console. After plugging a Telligence
Smart Pillow Speaker's DuraPin connector into the front of a patient
station, you can clip the Smart Pillow Speaker to the patient's bed
sheet for easy access. When not in use, a Smart Pillow Speaker can
be stored in a Smart Pillow Speaker holder.
GE Security offers the following choices for smart pillow speakers: a
standard (analog) Smart Pillow Speaker, four (digital) smart pillow
speakers, and four direct-access, (digital) smart pillow speakers.
These models are described in the sections that follow.
Standard Smart Pillow Speaker Model 7A2016
The standard model 7A2016 Smart Pillow Speaker (shown on page
62), used with standard hospital-grade televisions, provides:
Nurse call capability
Basic television controls:
TV on/off
TV channel up/down buttons, for cycling through channels
sequentially
TV volume control — via the thumb wheel on the Smart
Pillow Speaker side
Lighting control
The standard Smart Pillow Speaker features a large nurse call
button, three TV control buttons, a button for lighting control, and a
button that may provide another type of control, depending on how
your system is set up. Lights are turned on and off using one button
as explained in the topic "Light controllers" below.
Light controllers
The Telligence standard (model 7A2016) Smart Pillow Speaker (see
Figure 21 on page 62) control either one light fixture or two light
fixtures sequentially. If one light fixture is wired to the controller,
pressing the light bulb button turns that light on and off. If two light
fixtures are wired to the controller, pressing the light bulb button
cycles between turning both fixtures on and off. A typical cycle
would be light #1 on/light #2 off, light #1 off/light #2 on, light #1
on/light #2 on, and finally light #1 off/light #2 off.
