Chapter 5
Staff/duty stations
100
•
If an in-room lavatory emergency call has been made, slow
beeps sound at the patient station and at the staff/duty station.
•
Any current staff follow tone sounds for two seconds at any
associated patient station and repeatedly at any associated
staff/duty station.
•
Any associated dome light steadily turns on (by default, in red,
amber or green in the third light section down on a 4-section
dome light, or in the bottom section of a 2-section dome light).
Note:
If more than one presence level is registered, dome lights turn
on in the color representing the highest presence level.
•
Normal priority calls for the room, and reminders for normal
calls for the room with staff priorities that match or are lower
than your staff level, are canceled.
•
Normal priority calls for the room with higher-level staff priority
reminders than your staff level are not canceled.
•
Reminders with nurse call priorities more urgent than normal
priority but with matching or lower-level staff priorities are
hidden at the corridor/zone light.
Note:
Unless the staff member handles the calls and cancels them
at a room station, the reminders remain active and the
corridor/zone light redisplays them when presence is removed.
Removing registered presence
To remove registered presence at a presence station, press the
button that you pressed before to register your presence. When you
do this, the following happens:
•
The light by the presence station button extinguishes.
•
Status lights on associated patient or Smart Staff/Duty Stations
extinguish.
•
The presence indication at the dome light disappears.
•
If any call reminders remain active, the corridor/zone light
redisplays them.
•
In-room lavatory emergency and staff follow tones cease.
