FLASH DOWNLOAD CONFIGURATION SCREEN
There are restrictions on the version of firmware required for 6H302-48 modules with a serial
number starting with 3655xxxxxx. The serial number is visible on the top ejector tab of the switch,
or by querying the PIC MIB. For firmware in the 5.x track, version 5.03.05 or higher must be used
on 6H302-48 modules with a serial number starting with 3655. For the 4.x firmware track, 4.08.41
or higher must be used on 6H302-48 modules with a serial number starting with 3655.
When to Use
To perform the following:
Download a new firmware image file from a TFTP server to the switch module,
Download a configuration file from a TFTP server to the switch module, or
Upload the configuration file from the switch module to a TFTP server.
NOTE: You can also force an image download by changing the position of Switch 6
located inside the module. Use this as a last resort as it involves removing the switch
module from the chassis. If it is necessary to set Switch 6, refer to your switch module
installation/user's guide for instructions on how to remove the switch module and set
Switch 6.
Using FLASH DOWNLOAD CONFIGURATION does not affect the current IP and subnet
mask.
Before downloading an image to the switch module, copy the image to the network TFTP server.
NOTE: For information on how to set up a workstation as a TFTP server, refer to the
specific workstation documentation or contact support on the web at:
www.enterasys.com/support/
The download and upload configuration capability enables customer configurable settings to be
copied from one switch module to another via the TFTP server, according to the rules described in
this section. The configuration file can also be stored on the TFTP server to prevent loosing the
configuration values while performing maintenance on the switch module. After the maintenance
is completed, the configuration values can be downloaded to the same switch module.
