MAC_lock disable
Description:
Disables MAC locking by either individual port or on all ports of the module.
When MAC Locking Disabled and Authentication Disabled, MAC locking is
released (or unlocked) when the link transitions to a down state; there is a
spanning tree topology change; or the user explicitly releases the MAC by
disabling MAC locking for a given port.
When a module is reset, the MAC locking is released without affecting the
administrative state of the port function. States assigned through LM CLI
tools must be persistent across resets. (If you set port MAC locking to either
globally or on a per port basis and the module is reset, the ports will revert to
the last state prior to the reset.
Syntax:
MAC_lock disable [ port# | all ]
Options:
port# – Port number of a port to have MAC locking disabled.
all – Disables MAC locking on all ports of the module.
Example:
-> MAC_lock disable 5
-> MAC_lock disable all
MAC_lock enable
Description:
Enables MAC locking on either an individual port or on all ports of the
module. When the first source MAC address is received on a port, it is
"locked" to that port preventing all other MAC addresses from being learned
on that port. After the receipt of the first MAC, the switch fabric discards all
subsequent frames not containing the configured source MAC address. The
only frames that are forwarded on a "locked" port are those with the "locked"
MAC address for that port, multicast frames, or broadcast frames.
Syntax:
MAC_lock enable [ port# | all ]
Options:
port# – Port number of a port to have MAC locking enabled.
all – Enables MAC locking on all ports of the module.
Example:
-> MAC_lock enable
-> MAC_lock all
