Intel Express 460T Standalone Switch Users Guide
Configure MAC Address Filtering
Description
MAC address filtering allows the switch to drop unwanted traffic. The
switch will drop any traffic when it sees the specified MAC address in
either the source address or destination address of the incoming packet. For
example, if your network is congested because of high utilization from a
specific MAC address, you can filter all traffic transmitted from that address
and restore network flow, while you troubleshoot the problem.
Enter MAC: Type in the MAC address you want to filter.
VLAN/VLAN ID: If VLANs are active on the switch you can set MAC
address filtering on a per VLAN basis. For port-based VLANs, press the
z to select the name of VLAN. For tag-based VLANs, type in the
VLAN ID where the MAC address belongs.
ADD: Press e to activate the filter and add the MAC address to the
list.
DELETE: Press e to removes the filter for the specified MAC
address.
