Contents
Using the Search Tool, you can define simple or complex searches
to find electronic text files, scanned image files that contain text,
or any file to which you assigned attributes such as Author, Title,
and Keywords.
The Search Tool is only limited by the search database(s) that
you define and update on your system.
As described in "Search Database Manager and Update Tool"
earlier in this chapter, you can define and update one or more
search databases to reference all scanned and electronic
documents on your system.
This section provides details to understand and use the Search
Tool, focusing on these topics:
Basic search steps
Defining a search string
Other search properties
Menus and commands
Search toolbar
Searching for documents
Working with found documents
The basic steps to conduct a search are as follows, assuming you
have updated the search databases you are searching in:
1. Click the Search Tool on the Pagis ToolBar.
This displays the Search Tool main window (Figure 4–65).
The Search Tool main window displays the search name in the
title bar.
New searches are untitled; you can, however, name and save a
search to re-use it later.
