The network interface board, also referred to as a network
interface card (NIC), provides three connectors for coaxial
and twisted-pair network cabling:

BNC — supports thin coaxial cables.

AUI connector — supports thick coaxial cables.
n
RJ-45 connector — supports twisted-pair 10BASE-T
cables.
