GRP Console Port Signals

Both Data Set ready (DSR) and Data Carrier Detect (DCD) signals are active when the
system is running. The console port does not support modem control or hardware flow
control. The console port requires a straight-through EIA/TIA-232 cable. Table 3-1 lists the
signals used on this port

GRP Auxiliary Port Signals

The auxiliary port on the GRP is a DB-25 plug DTE port for connecting a modem or other
DCE device (such as a CSU/DSU or other router) to the Cisco 12012. The port is located
above the console port on the GRP faceplate. The auxiliary port supports hardware flow
control and modem control. An example of a modem connection is shown in Figure 3-14.
Table 3-2 lists the signals used on the auxiliary port.
