Removing and Replacing the Card Cage Assembly

This section covers the removal and replacement of the card cage assembly.
Note
remove all other components from the old card cage assembly and install them in the
replacement card cage assembly.
The card cage assembly comprises a single assembly that includes the upper card cage, the
lower card cage, and the power supply bays. The card cage assembly slides into and out of
the frame and attaches to the frame with six captive screws.
For ease of removal, all components, with the exception of the air filter, must be removed
from the old card cage assembly. A fully populated card cage assembly weighs
approximately 230 lb (104.3 kg); removing the components reduces the weight to 65 lb
(29.5 kg).
