6.1 Using Signaling
Preventing the Receiving Party from Emitting the Squelch Tail Noise When
Transmission Ends (Squelch Tail Elimination)
Squelch Tail Elimination is the function to prevent the speaker of the receiving party from emitting the squelch tail
noise when transmission ends.
DQT Turn-off Code
DQT Turn-off Code is the function to prevent the speaker of the receiving party from emitting the squelch tail noise
by sending the DQT turn-off code after transmission ends on the channel for which DQT Encode is configured.
If a receiving subscriber unit receives the DQT turn-off code, the received audio signal is muted.
The duration to send the DQT turn-off code can be configured according to the DQT Decode characteristics of the
subscriber unit used in the repeater system.
Note
Adjust the duration to send the DQT turn-off code by using DQT Turn-off Code if the receiving subscriber unit emits the
squelch tail noise due to a failure in receiving the DQT Turn-off code.
QT Reverse Burst Time
QT Reverse Burst Time is the function to prevent the speaker of the receiving party from emitting the squelch tail
noise by sending the QT reverse burst code after transmission ends on the channel for which QT Encode is
configured.
If a receiving subscriber unit receives the QT reverse burst code, the received audio signal is muted.
The duration to send the QT reverse burst code can be configured according to the QT Decode characteristics of the
subscriber unit used in the repeater system.
Note
Adjust the duration to send the QT reverse burst code by using QT Reverse Burst Time if the receiving subscriber unit emits
the squelch tail noise due to a failure in receiving the QT reverse burst code.
