digital, input or output, and each register is dedicated to a specific data topic. Tags
identify a device's particular memory registers from which DeviceHub can collect data.
You can add tags individually or as a group.
A tag generates a raw topic, which is the topic for publishing and subscribing through the
local message broker. The raw topic consists of normalized data, which can be sent to
multiple data destinations and data consumers. Use the Integration section of FBxEdge to
specify those destinations.
Note
When a tag generates a raw topic, the topic name appears in the Raw Topic column of the
Tags list in a system-generated format (such as devicehub.raw.5D7D4E72-DB16-41E5-9E5D-
A0AFAE801A04.43B10C12-3A14-4B76-8973-52D5A9694DC6). The Message Broker can copy
and use this system-generated label. However, if you select the Enable alias topics
option when adding or modifying a device, the system replaces the topic ID with a more
readable name (such as devicehub.alias.ROC2.SoftPoint) that you define.
