The lightweight backup file efficiently uses storage resources and employs encryption to
secure credentials.

Before Beginning

The FBxEdge license key provides a backup/restore functionality.

Once you receive the license key, go to System > License to enter the license

key and activate the license
Make sure you have activated the device with FBxEdge Manager.


Refer to your organization's standards and requirement to determine the frequency for
performing device backups.
The following recommendations help to ensure seamless recovery:
As a default, the system names the backup file using the format

backup_1624983948318.dat, where "1624983948318" is a system-assigned
identification. Rename the file using a naming convention that enables you to
quickly identify the date the backup occurred (such as 2022-09-18-18:12:51-
backup.dat).
Move the backup file from the default Downloads directory to an operational

directory on a server that can be accessed by the operations team.

Extract and open the backup DAT file using Notepad.
