Important for Cloud Deployment
The license Host ID depends on the Media Access Control (MAC) address for the device.
The manufacturer-supplied MAC address uniquely identifies each Ethernet port on the
device.

Wi-Fi

Important
The Wi-Fi option in the Navigation panel appears only if your edge device supports Wi-Fi.
This functionality – as well as serial communications – is not supported in the initial
product release. The initial product release supports only wired Ethernet.
4.5

Remote Access

When using a software-defined private network, the Remote Access pane allows you to:
Access FBxEdge software, no matter where in the world it resides.
Diagnose FBxEdge issues without requiring on-premise intervention.
Using the network's unique Node ID as a secure token, an end-to-end handshake
between devices ensures a direct, secure connection.
You can access a Zero Tier network, a private network, or directly access a device
4.6

Device Management

The Device Management pane includes the following sections:
Cloud Activation: Allows you to connect (activate) or disconnect (deactivate)
your edge device using an endpoint IP address. You can view the company
name, project name, device ID and status of the device. Set or modify the
endpoint with this option.
Note
"Cloud activation" is an onboarding activity to the FBxEdge Manager. It can be cloud-
hosted, but initially is hosted by customers on their own on-premise servers.
Manage: Allows you to reboot and factory-reset your edge device, as well as
upload the edge device software.
Cloud activation configures an FBxEdge device so that users can have remote access from
anywhere in the world.
