LDAP/AD Authorization

Use the LDAP/AD Auth pane to enable FBxEdge to leverage a local Active Directory
domain for user authentication and authorization. This enables you to manage account
credentials centrally through Active Directory without having to create local user accounts
on each edge device.
4.8

Users

Use the Users pane to add and manage your edge device users. You can define custom
roles, custom permissions, and custom user groups and then assign those users to the
groups, permission sets, and roles.
4.9

Tokens

Important
Tokens are required only when configuring one edge device to communicate directly with
another edge device or when building a docker container that needs to access the
FBxEdge's local API.
Use the Tokens pane to create and REST API keys and API access accounts.
An API token is a unique identifier of an application requesting access to a service. It is
used when FBxEdge uses REST API endpoints for sending requests and retrieving data
from the cloud.
The REST API Keys section allows you to add, modify, validate, and remove a key. You can
copy the API token from the Value column for a key.
4.10

Services

Use the Services pane to start and stop the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Server, the Secure
Socket Shell (SSH), and Remote Access services.
4.10.1

FTP

Important
FTP is a non-encrypted and insecure protocol. We highly recommend that you routinely
disable it, enabling it only when the rapid transfer of files is required.
FTP is a standard network protocol used to transfer files between a client and server on a
computer network.
