Azure 3131Z - 4131Z Reference Manual
Selecting the Custom Size, it is possible to change the mode ROI. The new ROI selected must fol-
low precise rules (see Section ROI Rules).
When a new ROI is selected, the max frame rate will automatically be adjusted.

The "AAA rules" button will show what are the rules that need to be
followed to choose an acceptable ROI. It is advised to consult these rules
Note
before starting the ROI customization. These rules are shown in the Section

ROI Rules.

When ROI is changed for a mode, the correction maps for offset and gain
will be invalidated. New offset and gain calibrations must be done with the
ROI set before any acquisitions. The defect map is updated during gain
Note
calibration. Any manually set defects will be maintained when the ROI is
updated.

ROI Rules
Due to how the detector reads out, there are some ground rules on what is allowed for defining
the ROI. ROI is based on the mode's binned size. Here are the rules to define the ROI:
ROI may not be defined for modes that have scaling applied (this is not typical).
1
ROI may not be defined for modes that have pre-configured ROI in the config file.
2
The ROI must be within the FOV of the mode.
3
The ROI must be either completely above the center of the detector or completely below the
4
center of the detector it must have horizontal lines of symmetry at the center of the detector
(it must have the same number of rows above and below the center).
