Diagnostic Frame Data
In the SDK, diagnostic data pertinent to the running acquisition is returned to the OEM software
through the
VSP2_FRAME_PACKET
provides frame-by-frame information (i.e. counters, frame details, etc., along with actual frame
pixel data). This information is used to track the progress of the acquisition. This is a change
from legacy software that returned this data in the first row of the frame.
21.1
Saving Diagnostic Frame Data
Because frame diagnostic data is returned in the
saved with the image for troubleshooting purposes when communicating with Customer
Support. Sample code in the SDK illustrates how to save details of the
data header pre-pended to the frame. The ability to save this data may be crucial when
diagnosing detector/software problems.
21.2
Diagnostic APIs
There are also some additional VSP2 APIs that provide diagnostic information about the
detector. Diagnostic information includes, for example:

Temperature information
•
Log
•
Voltages
Diagnostic APIs can be used to retrieve data from the detector not specific to frames being
returned during an acquisition.
