Expose_OK Output Signal

Expose_ OK is a detector driven signal to the system integrator. This signal indicates when it is
safe to deliver X-rays to the X-ray detector in a pulsed exposure.
The detector's Expose_OK output is present on pins 1 (EXP_OK) and 2 (USER_5V) of the male
9-pin D-sub, shown in
detector can receive X-rays. The Expose_OK output circuit is shown in
In a typical application, an opto-coupler with anode connected to pin 2 through a series resistor
and cathode connected to pin 1 of the 9-pin D-sub connector is used. The series resistor is used to
limit the maximum current draw on the 5 V provided on pin 2 to < 25 mA.
The detector is actively reading the sensor and should not be exposed to
X-rays in pulsed fluoroscopic applications when there is no current flowing

through the opto-coupler diode.
Current flowing indicates that it is OK to expose.
