Description of the X-ray Detector
The X-ray detectors described in this manual are components meant for cardiovascular and
angiography applications. As a component, these X-ray detectors require integration into an
X-ray system to produce images. The Azure 3131Z and 4131Z Ethernet X-ray detectors do not
function as stand-alone devices.
Connection ports on the detector facilitate communication with an X-ray system for the purposes
of synchronizing the X-ray exposure to the image read-out cycle. More information can be found
in
"Section 20.1, Generator Interface Signals" on page 28
on page
33.
The X-ray detector software is based on the Varex Smart Panel architecture. The X-ray
detector utilizes "T-series" software, and the VSP2 Application Programming Interface (API) for
both static and fluoroscopic acquisition. All software functions (acquisition, calibrations,
corrections, etc.) are performed on the detector. All files (i.e. config file, calibration maps)
necessary for imaging are stored on the X-ray detector.
Software systems will interact with the X-ray detector through a SDK library
(libvsp2.dll/libvsp2.so),
Viva Pro, a development tool application, allows Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) to
acquire, process, store, and display images. It can be used as a stand-alone development tool for
test or research purposes or as a utility for testing and evaluating the detector before it is
designed into an X-ray system. For more information, please refer to the Viva Pro User Manual
that is included in the SDK.
Viva Pro is NOT intended to be used in medical applications.
