Common Features of the 1732E-IB8M8SOER and
1732E-OB8M8SR Modules
This chapter describes the features common to both the 1732E Sequence of
Events Input and Scheduled Output modules.

The communications format determines what operational mode your module
uses and, consequently, what tags Studio 5000 Logix Designer generates when
configuration is complete. Once a module is created, you cannot change the
communications format unless you delete and recreate the module.
The communication format determines:
•
What type of configuration options are made available.
•
What type of data is transferred between the module and its owner-
controller.
•
What tags are generated when the configuration is complete.
Once you create a module, you cannot change the communication format
unless you delete and recreate the module. The communication format also
defines the connection between the controller writing the configuration and
the module itself. The number and type of choices varies depending on what
module you are using and whether it is in a local or remote chassis.
