Chapter 6 Configure the Module Using Studio 5000 Logix Designer Software
1. Right-click the module.
2. Select Properties.
The Internet Protocol tab is grayed out if you are offline. Through
this tab, you can do the following:
1. Specify Internet Protocol Settings. This allows you to set
manual or automatic configuration for your IP settings.
2. To manually configure, specify IP Settings Configuration by
providing the following information:
- Physical Module IP address
- Subnet Mask
- Gateway Address
- Domain Name
- Host Name
- Primary and Secondary DNS Server
3. If you make changes in Step A or Step B, then click Set.
Changes will not take effect until you reset the module or cycle
the power to the module.
4. Click OK to close the Module Properties dialog and download
your configuration, or
5. Click Port Configuration tab to go to the next screen.
The Port Configuration screen is grayed out unless you
are online with the controller and module. On this
screen, you can:
1. Enable or disable external ports.
2. Select Auto-negotiate on enabled ports. If Auto-
negotiate is disabled then select the correct speed
and duplex.
3. Click Port Diagnostics to display the Port Diagnostics
dialog.
4. If you make changes in Step A or Step B then click
Set. Changes will not take effect until you reset the
module or cycle the power to the module.
5. Click the Network tab to see the next screen, or
6. Click OK to close the Module Properties dialog and
download your configuration.

appropriate changes, as shown in the example.
