Degree of protection

Transmitter (wallmount housing)
The transmitter fulfill all the requirements for IP 67. Compliance with the following points
is mandatory following installation in the field or servicing, in order to ensure that IP 67
protection is maintained:
x The housing seals must be clean and undamaged when inserted into their grooves.
The seals must be dried, cleaned or replaced if necessary.
x All threaded fasteners and screw covers must be firmly tightened.
x The cables used for connection must be of the specified outside diameter
(see Page 145).
x Firmly tighten the cable entries (Fig. 51).
x Remove all unused cable entries and insert dummy plugs instead.
x Do not remove the grommet from the cable entry.

Flowrate measuring sensors P and W (Clamp on / insertion)
The flowrate measuring sensors P and W and the sound velocity measuring
sensors DDU 18 fulfill all the requirements for IP 67 or IP 68 degree of protection (please
observe the informations on the nameplate of the sensor). Compliance with the following
points is mandatory following installation in the field or servicing in order to ensure that
IP 67/68 degree of protection is maintained:
x Only use cables supplied by E+H with the corresponding sensor connectors.
x The cable connector seals (1) must be clean, dry and undamaged when inserted in
the seal groove. Replace them if necessary.
x Insert the cable connectors, do not cant and then tighten them to the stop.
