TC jump function

Normally, editing cannot be performed properly if
there is any discontinuity in the time codes during the
preroll period.
However, if the TC jump function is used, the preroll
period can be edited using CTL as the reference, and
the edit memory period after the IN point can be
edited using the time code as the reference.
1
Select VTR1, VTR2 or ALL as the setup menu item
No.571 (TC JUMP) setting.
(This selects the VTR or VTRs which will be used
for the TC jump function.)

Select VTR1 (player), and turn the search dial to
run the tape at the actual desired speed.
In the case of still-picture editing, set the speed to
0a (SHTL 0, STILL).
The slow-motion speeds that can be selected are
0a, 0.03a, 0.1a, 0.2a, 0.3a and 0.43a (forward
direction).
4
Press the AUTO EDIT button to proceed with
editing. The speed of VTR1 (player) when the
AUTO EDIT button was pressed is captured, and
slow-motion editing is executed.
<Notes>
O Still-picture editing or slow-motion editing is
possible when the OPERATION MODE switch has
been set to INT.
O In the case of slow-motion editing, no guarantees
are given for the editing accuracy.
The counter display shows the time code at all times,
and even if there is discontinuity in the time codes
during the preroll period, editing can be performed as
if the time codes were continuous.
<Note>
When the TC jump function is used, the tape is cued
up to the IN point during preview, automatic editing or
review, and then preroll is commenced. This happens
because preroll and run-up are executed using CTL at
the cued-up IN point as the reference.
After run-up, when the edit recording mode is
established again from the IN point, the editing
reference changes from CTL to TC.
