This selects the servo synchronizing signals.

0: During recording or editing, the servo is synchronized with the
input signals; during playback, it is synchronized with the REF
signal.

1: The servo is synchronized with the REF signal at all times.
This selects the allocation of the channels using the controller's
analog audio editing commands when a controller without
functions for digital audio editing is used to edit the digital audio
signals of the VTR.
The VTR's channel 1 editing commands can be set ON or OFF in
accordance with the analog audio signals specified by the
controller.
