Postinstallation activities
After the configuration of the ARN is complete, you can perform some
optional activities to enhance the security of the router or debug problems.
Setting passwords
Passwords must be set on all ARN router accounts to prevent access from
unauthorized users. The ARN contains two user accounts: User and
Manager. The Technician Interface is used to set passwords on these
accounts.
Procedure 82:
1 Log on to the Technician Interface using the Manager account.
2 At the Technician Interface prompt, type password to change the
password for the Manager account.
You are prompted for the old and new passwords as follows:
password <enter>
Changing password for Manager
Old password: (just press return if no password has been
set)
New Password: XXXXXXXX <enter>
Retype new password: XXXXXXXX <enter>
Manager password changed.
3 If there was no password previously set on the Manager account, press
<enter> at the old password prompt.
4 Change the password on the User account as follows:
password User <enter>
Changing password for User
New Password: XXXXXXXX <enter>
Retype new password: XXXXXXXX <enter>
User password changed.
