Introduction

The self-closing system consists of three main components:
(1) Spring Unit
The spring unit provides the force to pull the door closed and is
factory installed in the door header. Adjusting the spring tension
affects the opening and closing force of the door panel.
(2) Speed Control
The speed control is attached to the Active #2 carrier and
installed in the header at the factory. It is used to regulate door
closing speed.
(3) Rack Gear
The rack gear is factory installed in the door header and works
with the speed control to regulate speed and latching force.
Packages over 120" wide will have tandem gear racks placed
end to end in the header. Adjusting the position of the rack
affects latching force.
All system components are adjustable to provide maximum
flexibility and customization for the user. It is important to
understand the adjustments and how they interact as well as
how the door will be utilized in order to set-up the self-closing
system appropriately.
IMPORTANT!
Complete all final adjustment tasks before beginning the Self
Closing System Set-Up.

Gear Rack Position
1. With the active door closed, open the header cover and locate
the gear rack(s) in the bottom of the header. Packages over
120" wide will have tandem gear racks placed end to end in the
header. If the unit includes tandem gear racks, the ends of the
racks must butt together for proper function of the gear.
