The functionality of ATTENTION ASSIST is restric-
ted, and warnings may be delayed or not occur at
all, in the following situations:
The journey lasts less than approximately
R
30 minutes
The road condition is poor (uneven road sur-
R
face or potholes)
The vehicle is subjected to a strong crosswind
R
You have a sporty driving style (high cornering
R
speeds or high rates of acceleration)
The time is set incorrectly
R
You change lanes and vary your speed fre-
R
quently in active driving situations
The ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness or alertness
assessment is deleted and restarted when continu-
ing the journey in the following situations:
You switch o the vehicle

You unfasten your seat belt and open the driv-
R
er's door (e.g. to change drivers or take a
break)

symbol is shown in the status area of the
instrument cluster display.
You can choose between the following settings:
Off

Standard: normal system sensitivity.

Sensitive: higher system sensitivity. The driver

is warned earlier and the attention level detec-
ted by the system is adapted accordingly.

Blind Spot Assist uses two lateral, rear-facing radar
sensors to monitor the area directly next to and on
the side behind the vehicle.

This device has been approved by the FCC as
a "Vehicular Radar System". The radar sensor
is intended for use in an automotive radar sys-
tem only. Removal, tampering, or altering of
the device will void any warranties, and is not
permitted by the FCC. Do not tamper with,
alter, or use in any non-approved way.
Any unauthorized modi cation to this device
could void the user's authority to operate the
equipment.

Blind Spot Assist does not react to either sta-
tionary objects or vehicles approaching and
overtaking you at a greatly di erent speed.
Blind Spot Assist cannot warn drivers in these
situations.

lateral monitoring range and you switch on the turn
signal indicator in the corresponding direction, a
warning tone sounds. The red warning lamp in the
outside mirror ashes. If the turn signal indicator
remains switched on, all other detected vehicles
are indicated only by the ashing of the red warn-
ing lamp.
When you overtake a vehicle, the warning only
occurs if the di erence in speed is less than
approximately 12 mph (20 km/h).
