ARNING Risk of accidents due to per-
sons or objects in the area in which you
are maneuvering
Other road users may not hear or may ignore
the warning tone of the backing up warning
device. There is a risk of an accident.
Make sure that there are no persons or
#
objects in the maneuvering area during
maneuvering.
If necessary, a second person must
#
assist with maneuvering.
The reverse warning device is a system designed
to assist you in ensuring the safety of other road
users. The reverse warning device cannot guaran-
tee that no persons or objects are situated behind
the vehicle.
A warning tone sounds to alert other road users
when the reverse gear is engaged. If reverse gear
is engaged twice in quick succession, the volume
of the warning tone is lowered, for example, for
night-time operation. The warning tone sounds at a
normal volume by default. The volume of the warn-
ing tone has to be lowered again each time you
engage reverse gear, if necessary.
When using the reverse warning device described
here, observe the legal requirements for the coun-
try you are currently in.
