5.7.2. Advanced viewing tools

It is often necessary to view the images differently in different stages of the treatment. The
advanced viewing tools allow you to change the way in which the images are displayed in the
image area. A view can be customized by selecting the desired viewing tools. The Sonalleve MR-
HIFU application will remember the selected views when the user returns to a specific treatment
stage and to a tab page within the stage.

Button
The tool buttons of the following views are hidden by default. To add these tool buttons to the
toolbar, select them in the Tools → Toolbar Options menu.

Tool
Function/Use
Orthogonal
Shows the axial, sagittal and coronal planes and the image
view
stack. This view is "patient oriented", meaning that it is useful
for viewing the anatomy, but not for all planning operations.
Transducer
Shows the planes aligned with the transducer X, Y and Z
view
axes.The recommended view that allows adjusting the
transducer position in all three dimensions. Operations are
possible on all planes.
Monitor
Shows the monitor stacks used in temperature monitoring
view
during sonication.
PTV view
Shows selected planes aligned according to the Planning
Target Volume (PTV) X, Y and Z axis. The only view in which
the PTV can be adjusted in all three dimensions. Operations
are possible on all planes.

Comparison
Shows two images of the same plane side by side. Useful for
view
e.g. comparing the images from two protocols.
Single view Shows a single large image.
