9. Product disposal > 9.4. Disposal of patient accessories
WARNING
Do not dispose of any parts of this product with industrial or domestic waste. The product
contains hazardous materials which require special disposal.
Incorrect disposal of any of these materials may lead to serious environmental pollution.
Beryllium
Some components in the transducer assembly inside the Sonalleve Patient Table contain beryllium
copper.
Lead
Some components inside the Sonalleve Patient Table contain lead.
Mercury
This product consists of devices that may contain mercury, which must be recycled or disposed of
in accordance with local, state, or federal laws. (Within this system, the backlight lamps in the
monitor display contain mercury.)
Perchlorate materials
In this product, perchlorate material is present in lithium coin cells and/or batteries. Special
handling may apply for these materials. For more information, go to:
www.dtsc.ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlorate.
There is a lithium coin cell on the CPU board inside the workstation of the Sonalleve Console.
The liquid inside the Patient Table
The liquid inside the Sonalleve Patient Table may require special handling. For information on how
to safely handle the liquid, refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet supplied with the system.

9.4. Disposal of patient accessories

The materials used in the patient accessories used during HIFU treatment do not require special
handling and can be disposed of with normal hospital waste.
Do not throw gel pads or gel pad fragments in the toilet. Do not put gel pads or gel pad fragments
into biodegradable waste.

9.5. Disposal of the Sonalleve QA Phantom

Check the model number in the device label of the QA phantom to identify the phantom model.
