When you start up the computer for the first time, or any time after all pow-
er has been removed, you are "cold starting" the computer. The start up
routine tests the internal components of the computer, resets all volatile
memory to a known state, and determines what peripherals are connected.
The Model 6600 Computer does not require a special start up diskette. The
required start up program is permanently programmed into your computer at
the factory. For those technical personnel using a Master-mode boot card,
either PC card drive can be used.
