    " " " General Information Options that can be ordered for the 6620 Computer include DRAM and Flash RAM upgrades, an integrated scanner, an internal modem, a 2.5-inch hard drive, and various built-in wireless (radio or cellular) communication devices. Accessories are items or devices that, when added to the computer, make it more convenient to use or that extend its functionality.

    (external) CCD, wand, and laser scanners. Internal Modem The 6620 Computer can be ordered with a modem built into the unit, with the RJ-45 connector providing external con- nection to your telephone line. Computers not ordered with an internal modem can have this option installed (by autho- rized Service Centers) in the future.

    Cigarette Lighter Adapter The cigarette lighter adapter cable provides a quick and convenient way to power the 6620 Computer from a vehicle electrical system. The DC power plug goes directly into the power jack on the bottom of the computer. A light-emitting diode (LED) power indicator (item #2, below) is on when ve- hicle power is available to the computer.

    A standard electri- cal outlet provides power, via either a U.S. or an interna- tional power cord, directly to the single dock. The 6620 Computer then receives both charging and operating power when inserted in the single dock. The single dock can be connected to a network, and it can have various accessories or peripheral devices connected to it.

    Each multidock is designed to hold up to four com- puters, providing charging power to each computer and an Ethernet communication interface between the 6620 Com- puters and a host computer. This ensures that batteries are charged regularly and allows for unattended up and down- loading of data.
