Restraint system warning

Possible causes/consequences and
The red restraint system warning lamp is lit while the drive system is running.
*The restraint system is malfunctioning (

If the restraint system is malfunctioning, restraint system components may be triggered unintentionally or may
not deploy as intended during an accident. This may affect the seat belt tensioner or airbag, for example. Further‐
more, in the event of an accident, the high-voltage on-board electrical system may not be deactivated as inten‐
ded.
You may be electrocuted if you touch the damaged component parts of the high-voltage on-board electrical sys‐
tem.
Have the restraint system checked and repaired immediately at a qualified specialist workshop.

After an accident, switch off the ignition immediately.

Drive on carefully.

Note the messages on the multifunction display.
