Possible causes/consequences and
* You have attempted to shift the transmission out of park position j and into another transmission position.
Depress the brake pedal.

Select transmission position h, k or neutral i.
#
* You have attempted to shift the transmission out of park position j or neutral i and into another transmission
position.
Depress the brake pedal.
#
Start the drive system.
#
* The driver's door is not fully closed and transmission position h, k or neutral i is selected.
Select park position j when switching off the vehicle.
#
* Neutral i has been selected while the vehicle is rolling or while you are driving.
To stop, depress the brake pedal.
#
Select park position j when the vehicle is stationary.
#
To continue driving, select transmission position h or k.
#
* The park position j can be selected only when the vehicle is stationary.
To stop, depress the brake pedal.
