When using a CCS (Combined Charging Sys‐
tem) charging cable to charge with direct
current, both areas of the vehicle socket are
covered by the charging cable connector.
Charging options for the high-voltage battery
(mode 2, 3 or 4):
Charging through recuperation while the

vehicle is in motion
Stationary charging with alternating current

Mains outlet (mode 2)

The high-voltage battery can be charged in a
nominal voltage range from 100 V to 400 V.
It is recommended that you charge the high-volt‐
age battery at a wallbox or charging station due
to the improved charging performance and bet‐
ter charging efficiency offered.
System limits
The power output of the high-voltage battery
may be impaired by the following:
High or low outside temperatures

Driving and parking 177
Electrical auxiliary consumers in the vehicle

being switched on, e.g. operating the climate
control system
Extended periods without charging

The charging time of the high-voltage battery
may be increased by the following:
