For all the steps included in this test, the relay general setting must be the following ones:
For this unit, the relay must trip due to an excess of positive active power
According to these values the theoretical trip value is:
0.05 x NOMINAL S x POWER FACT x 1/CT X 1/VT = 45 W
•
Apply 0 W and check that the relay does not trip (0V or 0A).
•
Increase the power until producing a trip, and check that the operation range does not exceed in ±6% the theoretical
value.
•
Apply 100 W and check that the operating time does not exceed from 60 ms
For this unit, the relay must trip due to a low positive active power
