Performing a Reference Analysis
A reference analysis is used to verify that the instrument is operating properly and producing
optimum results. Use the Carbon reference material provided in the accessories kit to perform
this analysis. Your results should match those shown on the label of the reference material
bottle, within the tolerance level.
Installing the Sample Tube with Sample
Leave the blank sample tube installed earlier in the Balance port. Remove the blank sample
tube from the Analysis port, then install the sample tube, with the carbon reference material,
into the Analysis port. Refer to
Checking the Liquid Nitrogen Level in the Dewar

Check the level of the analysis bath liquid in the Dewar. It should be about 2 cm (3/4 in.)
from the top for the small Dewar and 5 cm (2 in.) for the large Dewar. Top off if
necessary..
