Together, the preceding factors allow you to configure more IP phones than the number of IP
resources available in a system. If all IP resources are in use, subsequent demands for IP resources
are placed in a Camp On state until IP resources become available.
Depending on the configuration of reserved IP resources, a few scenarios may produce an
unavailable IP resource condition. When system configuration results in an unavailable resource,
a warning appears on display phones, and the user hears a beep every 5 seconds. To review the

To effectively oversubscribe an IP-dominant system, the Resource Reservation feature must

IP Device Resource Manager

The IP Device Resource Manager maintains all IP resource requests in the system along with all
allocated IP resources in the system. It provides useful diagnostic data to determine what types of
calls are going on in the system and how long calls have been both camped-on or on an active call.

Node IP Connection Group

The Node IP Connection Group corresponds to an IP network connection between a remote node
and the local node.
