Mitel recommends installing a backup power supply unit having the following characteristics:
Sine wave output
Transfer time of less than 20 msec
Low AC line transfer voltage, or cutoff circuit, of 100 VAC, minimum
The ampere-hour rating of the battery determines the system back-up time. Also, even if the power
supply unit possesses the specifications listed in the preceding paragraph, it cannot be guaranteed
that it will work properly with the Mitel system.

For correct operation, the UPS Monitoring feature requires compatible hardware and software, as

Compatible UPS Units

Three commercial UPS units were tested against the Release 2.2 software and passed UPS
Monitor-compliance testing for use with the MiVoice Office 250.
Monitoring capabilities of the following UPS units were found compatible at that time with the UPS
Monitoring feature:
APC Smart-UPS® series (Universal Serial Bus [USB] connection)
MGE Pulsar Evolution series (USB connection)
ONEAC ON® Series® in advanced interface mode (To connect, you must use the USB cable
provided by the manufacturer.)
