How to Clean the and Grease Guide Rods
Timing of Cleaning: Once a month – or
If CR encoder error occurs or SC 996 or SC 997 or prints are double printing
An accumulation of ink mist lint etc. on the guide rods or in rare cases on the linear encoder for each
carriage can cause these errors. In that case the, errors can be cleared with these cleaning procedure.
Cleaning content：Clean and re-grease the guide rods for the white and color carriage
Remove old dirty grease from the guide rods
Apply new grease to the guide rods
Wipe the linear encoder with a lint free wipe and remove any grease from the
encoder that may have accidentally got on the encoder during the greasing
Use only Ricoh Grease Type G1
Cleaning time: Half an hour
Things to prepare: Cleaning Applicator that comes with the printer
