Ricoh introduces new white inks for RICOH Ri 2000. This document describes the new information added to the User Manual for RICOH Ri 2000, that relates to the use of the new white inks "RICOH Enhanced Garment Ink Cartridge White1 / White2 Type G2".
RICOH Ri 2000 Additional manual 2. Check and update firmware and MIM Check and update firmware. If your firmware version is older than the following, please update it. The firmware version of each printer that supports Type G2 White Ink is as follows.
RICOH Ri 2000 Additional manual 3. Check printer discharge condition If the printer is using Type G1 White ink for white head, print a nozzle check and check the white head discharge condition. However, if the printer is using cleaning cartridge for white head, it is not necessary to perform this check.
RICOH Ri 2000 Additional manual 5. Preparation of Type G2 White Ink cartridges Before using new Type G2 White Ink, please agitate at least 200 times. After filling the cartridge with ink, we recommend that you perform a test print to check the white density before printing.
RICOH Ri 2000 Additional manual 2. Agitate the ink cartridge. • Hold the white ink cartridge as shown below. • Hold the white ink cartridge with the ink supply port face up. • Shake the ink cartridge at 45° to the left and right (see figure below).

Replacement Procedure of Type G2 White Ink In case of KCMY+W mode In case of KCMY+W mode, please follow the procedure below to replace the ink with Type G2 White Ink. STEP1. Replace the white ink to be changed with Type G2 White Ink (or Type G2 White Ink (Hi Yield)).

RICOH Ri 2000 Additional manual In case of KCMY mode In case of KCMY mode, please follow the procedure below to replace the ink with Type G2 White Ink. STEP1.Remove four cleaning cartridges for W1 and W2 channels. STEP2.Insert the Type G2 White Ink (or Type G2 White Ink (Hi Yield)) cartridges.

STEP9.Wait until filling operation is complete. When "Ready to Print" is displayed, proceed to the next step. STEP10.Perform “Strong” head cleaning on all heads.

When printing a solid white area at the white print mode 600x1200dpi setting when replacing Type G1 White Ink with Type G2 White Ink, “white banding” may occur in the direction orthogonal to the platen transport direction (see figure below).
