Booting for the first time

Procedure
1. Power on the system
Press the Power On/Standby button.
If you are setting up the server directly, remember that you need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected. If you are
setting up the server remotely after connecting it to your network, use the iLO 5 Remote Console capabilities from another
computer on the network.
When you first power on a ProLiant Gen10 server, the server displays a list of booting subsystems and self tests. After the
initial Power On Self Test (POST), the server displays the HPE ProLiant initialization screen. The checked icons at the
bottom right represent each option that is present or installed on the server.
NOTE: When using the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), the iLO IP address appears at bottom left.
2. Start Intelligent Provisioning (F10)
When you see the available function key options display at the bottom of the screen, press F10 to start Intelligent
Provisioning. Wait while Intelligent Provisioning loads.
The Intelligent Provisioning preferences screen appears.
About Intelligent Provisioning
Intelligent Provisioning is an essential single-server deployment tool already installed, or embedded, in your HPE ProLiant
server that makes it easier to set up.
Intelligent Provisioning helps you install an operating system by preparing the system for an installation of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7.6.
For information about specific versions of a supported operating system, see the OS Support Matrix on the Hewlett
Packard Enterprise website (http://www.hpe.com/info/ossupport).
Intelligent Provisioning gives you quick access to maintenance-related tasks from the main menu.
IMPORTANT: Intelligent Provisioning does not support Legacy boot mode.
For more information on Intelligent Provisioning, see the HPE website http://www.hpe.com/info/intelligentprovisioning/
docs.
