Connecting EM Instruments

Precautions
Do not place EM instrument cables within 30 mm of the EM Field Generator cable. If placed
this close, in particular when parallel to each other, the EM instrument cable may become
subject to electromagnetic interference leading to compromised system accuracy.
Do not pull at cables when removing EM instruments from the EM Base Station.
How to Connect EM Instruments
When connecting or disconnecting EM instruments always use one hand to connect/disconnect
the instrument and the other hand to stabilize the EM Base Station to avoid moving it or
detaching it from the OR table rail.

Connect the EM instrument to any free EM instrument port ① (located on the right side of
the EM Base Station ③) until the plug snaps in.
Ensure that the red indication on the plug matches the indication on the receptacle ②.
If the EM Base Station is powered (power LED ④ is on), the corresponding instrument
status LED lights up in amber color ⑤.
When the EM instrument is recognized by the software as a valid, the LED color changes
from amber to green.
