Do not use any paper products for cleaning. Paper products may scratch illuminator filters.
The system must be completely powered down and disconnected from mains power before
cleaning.
Do not sterilize the camera.
Camera Cleaning Intervals
As frequency of cleaning depends on how frequently the camera is used, Brainlab cannot give
general recommendation on cleaning intervals. This is within the user's responsibility.
Regularly inspect illuminator filter and lenses for cleanness, however only clean them when
necessary.
Post-Cleaning
After cleaning, ensure that the telescope post of the Camera Cart is completely dry before
retracting the post.

• Clean camera cover using a surface disinfectant.
• Follow disinfectant manufacturer's recommendations.
• Take care not to wipe debris from camera onto illuminator filters and lenses.
• Avoid prolonged contact between wipes and camera.
• Clean illuminator filters and lenses using a commercial lens cleaning solution for multi-
coated lenses (such as AR66) and a clean knitted microfiber optical cleaning cloth
(such as Hitecloth).
• Avoid prolonged contact between lens cleaner and illuminator filter and lenses.
After the Monitor Cart is shut down (see page 97), disconnect the cables at the EM Base
Station.
Clean all housing surfaces using a surface disinfectant.
Follow disinfectant manufacturer's recommendations.
Carefully clean interfaces, ensuring that no liquids enter the system.
NOTE: Do not spray liquids directly into ventilation openings of the EM Base Station.
Wipe off the EM Field Generator fixation plate or Positioning Arm and remove dust and
remnants of EM Field Generator fixation piece.
