BETA DOCUMENT - PRELIMINARY & CONFIDENTIAL

CS telephone commands. It explains the following aspects of working with your
voice messages:
Using new message indicators
n
Listening to your voice messages
n
Customizing voice message playback order
n
Using the voice message telephone commands
n
Deleting and undeleting messages
n
Replying to a message, forwarding a message, and calling back a message
n
Sending a message directly to a user's voice mail
n
Voice mail from the caller's point of view
n
Selecting a personal status on the phone
n
For instructions on how to work with voice messages in the Client, see
Chapter 12.
Strata CS can alert you in the following ways when you have new (unheard) voice
messages:
Stutter dial tone. When you pick up your phone, the dial tone begins
n
with several short tones, called a stutter, and then changes into a regular
dial tone. The stutter dial tone indicates that you have new voice
messages.
Message-waiting light. If your phone has a CLASS message-waiting
n
light, you can have it flash to indicate new voice messages.
E-mail and pager notification. Strata CS can send you an e-mail
n
message or a page you whenever you receive a new voice message. You
can choose to be notified only for urgent messages, and you can schedule
notification to occur only during the times you want.
You can set up notification in the Client. See "E-mail and pager
notifications" on page 12-4. If you do not have a Client, your Strata CS
system administrator can set up e-mail and pager notification for you.
Note:
If you share a phone with one or more users, the message-waiting light and
stutter dial tone occur if there are new messages for any of the users assigned to
that phone.
