General Information

Firmware Update with "Dolfi" Program

Note: In the case of drives with absolute value encoder and modulo
format, the position data reference has to be established again
after having loaded the parameter values saved after initial
commissioning, even if the actual position values are signaled
to be valid via S-0-0403, Position feedback value status!
Respective diagnostic command message:
C2500 Copy IDN from optional memory to internal memory
The following error diagnoses can be signaled:
• C2502 Error when accessing the MMC
• C2504 Error when writing data to the flash
Basically there are 2 possibilities of updating the firmware:
•
update via serial interface (RS232/RS485) by means of the "Dolfi"
program
•
update by means of MultiMediaCard (MMC)
To be Noticed when Using the Safety Technology
Module
Note: The firmware of the optional safety technology module and of
the drive controller are firmly linked. Each firmware update
contains the firmware of the optional safety technology module
and of the controller. If the controller firmware detects a
version on the optional safety technology module that is not
suitable, the supplied version is loaded.
When the firmware is replaced, the values of all parameters normally are
retained. If values of the safety technology parameters should
nevertheless get lost, proceed according to the instructions contained in
the separate documentation "Integrated Safety Technology".

"Replacing a control section without MMC" via the index of the separate
documentation "Integrated Safety Technology".
With the "Dolfi" program it is possible to carry out firmware updates for
the drive controller via the serial interface.

Together with the program you will receive a documentation that
describes how to handle the program and how to replace the firmware.
