Device Description of Field Bus Coupler
4.1
General information
This chapter contains a short overview of the field bus coupler structure and
the most important features. Detailed information can be found in the appro‐
priate sections.
The field bus coupler S67-S3-BK-DI8-M8 is primarily used for connecting the
IndraControl S67 series devices to the real-time Ethernet field bus in the
Sercos specification V1.1.2.

Station structure
After connecting the Sercos field bus coupler, it detects all modules inserted
in the station and creates a local process image from them. This may be a
mixed arrangement of analog and digital modules. The local process image is
divided into an input and output data area The field bus coupler enters the
data of the inserted I/O modules into special data structures. This data struc‐
tures are defined by the Sercos specification and are designated with "identi‐
fication numbers" (IDNs).
With the corresponding configuration, this I/O data is then mapped in the cy‐
clical real-time data channel and transferred to the higher-level control. In ad‐
dition, this I/O data is also made available through access via the service
channel.
To manage and diagnose the field bus coupler, the RFC-specific protocols
BootP, DHCP, HTTP and FTP are also available. These protocols can be
configured using the web-based management. Also refer to

An internal server is available for web-based applications. HTML pages stor‐
ed in the field bus coupler allow accessing information on the configuration
and status of the field bus node via web browsers.
