2.2.2.1 Loading methods

The tool management software for the SINUMERIK 880/840C and SINUMERIK 880/880 GA2
supports different procedures of loading tools into the magazine:
• Loading via computer link
• Loading via code carrier
• Loading via tape
In addition, the method of loading can be selected:
• Loading according to the loading list (direct loading)
• Reloading
• Loading with operator guidance
The magazine and locator numbers are preset when loading according to the loading list.
When reloading (locator No. = 0), the locations are specified by the ID and Duplo No. These
numbers must be searched for during the reloading procedure and the remaining data
assigned to the location.
In the case of loading with operator guidance (magazine and locator No. are irrelevant), the
tool management automatically searches for an empty location for the tool to be loaded
depending on the size of the tool.
Command codes are used by the operator to inform the program of the required type of
access to the magazine table. The individual command codes are explained in the description
of FB 139 "Data distributor".
