2.1.1 Overview
Data blocks for the current magazine/turret assignment
The current magazine/turret assignment is stored in up to 32 data blocks in the PLC. Part of it
is permanently assigned by packages 1 and 2 (package 2 applies to SINUMERIK 880/880 GA2
only); the remaining part can be freely assigned. The type (to some extent) and the scope can
be selected by the user as required.
Assignment of data words
Figure 2.4 shows the data word assignments of the magazine/turret table, which is subdivided
into the following areas:
• Auxiliary words for search routines (data words 0 and 1)
• Buffer area for data input and data output (DW 2 to DW n) (for loading with operator
guidance)
• Buffer area for the "physically available" buffers
• Magazine/turret assignment (from data word n+1 onwards)
The data word assignments are specified via the PLC machine data words in DB 61 and the
machine data bits in DB 64.

Data block assignments of the magazine/turret assignment
Figure 2.5 shows the data block assignments of the magazine/turret table. The table is divided
up into the four superordinate areas "tool list", "user area", "reference list" and "basic
dimensions" and is generated starting from data block 151 in ascending order. Data block 150
is not part of the magazine/turret table but is used for buffering internal statuses of the
program.
