NOTICE
Damage to the gearbox caused by incorrect oil quantities
Incorrect oil quantities can cause gearbox damage.
• Check the oil level before commissioning.
Note

9.2.5

Checking the gearbox for leaks

Note
From the inherent principle of operation, oil mist can escape from the vent valve or a
labyrinth seal.
Small quantities of oil or grease can escape at the shaft sealing ring during the run-in period
of 24 hours operating time.
If significant leaks occur, or if a leak persists after the run-in period, replace the shaft sealing
ring.
This prevents follow-on damage.
Shaft sealing rings are subject to natural wear. The service life depends on the rated
conditions.
